How Do I Toggle From Desktop Speakers to Headset?

Headphones can work alongside speakers

Different speakers do different things. In cases of gaming or music entertainment, many users often proudly display your music or gaming to anyone within earshot of you. However, for those times when you want to use headphones in order to listen to video game directions or music in the privacy of their own two ears, this is OK too. You can set up your PC to use your speakers rather than your headphones.

Instructions

1. Ensure that your headphones are connected to your PC.

2. Click the Start Menu of your PC, then click "Control Panel."

3. Click on the sounds settings on your Panel.

4. Click on the "Audio" tab in the window that appears.

5. Choose your headset in the "Sound Playback" box. They will either be the name of your headphones, or the name of a hardware device such as "Audio out."

6. Click "OK" to save your changes.
