How to Restore Drained Macbook Batteries
Modern MacBooks all run on Lithium-Polymer batteries, which are similar to the old Lithium-Ion batteries they used to run on. Lithium-Polymer batteries loose charge over a period of time and they will, eventually, totally die. However, if the MacBook battery is drained, but not fully drained, it will possible to restore it. If the MacBook battery is fully drained it will not be possible to restore it.

Turn your MacBook computer off and unplug it from any outlets. Turn your MacBook over so its back is facing up.

Use a coin to open the battery compartment. Place the drained battery into the battery compartment and click it into place.

Replace the battery compartment door and turn the lock with the coin counter clockwise so it will stay shut.

Plug your AC adapter into the MacBook and into the power outlet.

Turn your MacBook computer on and look at the battery icon in the upper right-hand side of the menu bar. The battery icon will have a lightening bar in it if it is charging.

Allow the battery to fully charge before removing it from the MacBook. Repeat this process with any other drained MacBook batteries.

Tips & Warnings
Only MacBooks can charge MacBook batteries.
Be sure the model of the MacBook and the model of the battery are compatible with each other or they will not work.
