      Life the top off the Royal McBee Manual typewriter.

      Take the spools out for removing the old ribbon of the typewriter. Set the old ribbon aside.

      Place the two spools in the spool holders.

      Attach one end of the new typewriter ribbon to the take up reel. You will find a sharp arrow on the reel, which you can use for penetrating the ribbon.

      Locate the take up spindle on the typewriter's right side. Slip the reel on the spindle and place the main ribbon on the top. Give the take up reel a few turns to make sure that the ribbon gets enough room for moving freely through the mechanism of the typewriter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unless you want to type in red ink, do not put the red side of the ribbon up.

  • You can re-use the old ribbon once by flipping it over.
