How to Connect a VCR to a Television With No Remote
Connecting a video cassette recorder (VCR) to a television with no remote control requires two standard sets of white, red and yellow composite AV cables. Even if the TV does not have a remote control, the VCR and television will operate normally using the buttons on the front panel of each component. Because the composite cables are color-coded, hooking up the VCR to the TV should take only a few minutes.
Instructions

1
Insert the yellow, white and red plugs on one end of the composite cables into the matching AV OUT jacks on the back of the TV.
-
2
Connect the plugs on the other end to the color-coded AV Record IN jacks on the back of the VCR. This connection sends a signal from the TV for recording to a videotape in the VCR.

3
Insert the plugs on a second set of composite cables into the AV IN jacks on the back of the TV, then connect the other ends to the AV OUT or Playback jacks on the VCR. This connection sends the signal from a prerecorded videotape out to the TV for viewing.

Set the TV to channel 3 or 4 for viewing videotapes. Set the TV to the desired channel for recording a program when using the VCR to record shows.
