Windshield full of rain

Rain-X was created to improve driving conditions during inclement weather. Applied to the windshield of a car, it makes water, snow, or sleet droplets move more quickly off the glass. Over time, however, the Rain-X wears off and becomes less effective. At that time you will want to remove the remaining Rain-X and administer a new coat.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose between Rain-X Glass Polish, and Soft Scrub cleanser. Both of these products will remove the Rain-X on your windshield.

    • 2

Wet a non-abrasive cloth. Wring it out if you got too much water on it. You want it to be damp but not soaking wet.

    • 3

Pour the amount of cleanser on the cloth that is specified in the instructions of the particular product you chose to use.

    • 4

Wipe the cleanser on the windshield. It helps if you continue in a pattern so that you do not miss a spot. For example, you could go from top to bottom, or from left to right.

    • 5

Rinse the windshield off with some cold water. Make sure there are no suds left.

    • 6

Dry the windshield with a non-abrasive cloth. The windshield will now be free of any Rain-X.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bon-Ami Cleaning Powder will also work to remove the Rain-X on your windshield.

  • Do not use cleansers that are harsh abrasives. They will scratch your windshield.
