How to Clean a Canon Scanner 4200

Clean your connected scanner.

The Canon CanoScan 4200 is a desktop scanner you can connect to your Windows-based computer. The hardware allows you to import digital images of anything from typed documents to photographs. However, over time, the scanner will collect dust, fingerprints and other debris. To keep your imported images looking their best, clean off the Canon CanoScan 4200 periodically.

Things You'll Need

• Glass cleaner
• Soft cloth

Instructions

1. Power down your Canon CanoScan 4200, because you will use a liquid to clean the device.

2. Open the cover of the scanner to reveal the glass bed. Leave the cover up while cleaning.

3. Spray the glass bed with a glass cleaner, then wipe the glass clean with a soft cloth.

4. Dry off the Canon scanner. This only takes a moment and you can let it air dry. Once the scanner is dry you can power it back on and begin using it again.
