Animating the old-fashioned way

Flash MX is animation software created by Macromedia. The software takes practice to master, but the hard part is learning the skill of animation itself. Once you've learned how to animate properly and are ready to make an animation movie presentation, even that could take several months. However, if you are willing to invest the time and energy, you can create an impressive movie flash presentation in Macromedia Flash MX.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in your drawing tablet, and launch Macromedia Flash MX on your computer.

    • 2

Fill in every frame of the timeline with drawings until your entire animation is completed and you are satisfied with it.

    • 3

Add sound effects and audio to your animation so it isn't entirely silent (unless you intend for it to be a silent animation). You can import sounds by clicking on "File > Import > Import to Stage."

    • 4

Export your flash movie presentation when your project is finished and you are satisfied with the animation and audio. You can export the movie by selecting "File > Export > Movie." This will open a window asking you what you want to name the final movie, where you want to save it, and in what format you want you want to save it in. Name it what you want, and choose where you want to save it, then next to the words "Save as type" select ".Avi."

Click on "Save." In the next window, choose what size you want your video to be. Next make sure you choose what quality you want the audio to be, after that, click on "Ok." The next window asks what you want the quality of your video to be in. The higher the quality the better it will look, but the bigger the file size will be. Choose what quality you want, and then click "Ok." It will then save your movie Flash MX presentation.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be patient while it saves. Depending on how much animation and audio you put into your project, it might take a little while.
