How Do I Use My SD Card?
SD cards are used in a number of devices as storage. Typically, they are used for storing media such as pictures, sounds and videos. SD cards are small, but they can hold over 8GB worth of items. SD cards make it easy to transfer media and data between devices. You just have to take it out of one device and put it in the other. It's universal storage, similar to a flash drive.

Open the SD card slot cover on the device, if applicable. Sometimes the SD slot is covered. It will usually say SD card or have a picture of a card on the outside of it to show you that this is where the card goes. If you are using a computer, be aware that not all computers have an SD card slot. You may need an external SD card reader to use it.

2
Insert the new SD card into the SD card slot on the device. The device should have a slot that matches the size of the SD card that you can simply push it into.

Access your SD card. Computers will automatically recognize the card as a new drive and you will be able to access the card and transfer files between the card and computer right away. In smaller devices like cameras and phones, the card is used as media storage only. The card will be recognized and ready for use on the device after it is inserted. On the phone, in the media section, there should be a folder for your card. On the camera, you just need to access "playback" mode to see the pictures on the card.
