How to Share a Vista Gadget

Microsoft introduced Windows Sidebar gadgets with its operating system Windows Vista. The gadgets are very similar to Apple's widgets and can save you time opening other programs. For instance, if you need to see your calendar everyday, simply place the calendar gadget on your desktop. There are gadgets for just about everything. You can also share your gadgets with other computers.

      Turn on your computer and your Windows Vista computer will boot up. Click the "Start" button and then click the "Computer" option.

      Click onto your "C:" drive and then to "Program Files" to open the location of your programs. Navigate to "Windows Sidebar" and click it to open the folder.

      Click "Gadgets" and you will see all of your Vista Sidebar gadgets. Click each gadget while holding the "Ctrl" button. Right-click one of the gadgets and click "Copy."

      Insert a USB flash drive into your computer and open the drive. Hold down the "Ctrl" button and press the "V" key to paste the gadgets into the drive. Go to "Computer" again and right-click your USB flash drive. Click "Eject" and remove the drive.

      Insert the drive into the computer you want to share the gadgets with and copy them into the same folder from where they came from.
