How Do I Transfer Information From Palm One to Outlook?
Palm handheld devices are popular data managment assistants. The Palm handheld device allows you to manage contacts, send and receive email and run mobile computer applications. A common task that arises for Palm One users is to transfer information from the Palm One device to Microsoft Outlook. In order to import information from your Palm One, you will need to export the data first and then conduct a manual import into Outlook.

Connect your Palm One device to your computer with USB cable or via the Palm One docking station.

Click "Addresses" followed by "File" and "Export on the Palm One device.

Enter "Contacts" in the File Name menu dialogue box and choose "Comma Separated Values" in the "Export Type List" followed by the "All" and "Export" menu buttons.

Choose the "Ok" menu twice and the "Contacts.csv" file will be exported to the "My Documents" folder.

Open the CSV file exported from your Palm One device in Microsoft Excel. Select the first row of the Excel file by left clicking the "1" row label followed by the "Insert" and "Rows" menu button.

Enter the following fields at the top of each column of data in the CSV file in order to provide the proper fields for the Outlook address book: First Name, Last Name, Title, Company, Work, Home, Other, Email, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Country, Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3, Custom 4, Note, Private and Category. After you have entered the field data labels, save the file by choosing the "File" and then "Save" menu buttons.

Open Microsoft Outlook and choose the "File" and "Import and Export" menu options.

Click the "Import from another program or file" and choose the "Next" menu button. On the subsequent menu, choose "Comma Separated Values" for the file type followed by the "Next" button.

Choose the "Contacts.csv" file using the file chooser and then select the "Contacts" location for the destination to import the data followed by the "Next" menu button. Click the "Finish" button to complete importing the Palm One contacts into Outlook.
