So you want to be a CFA Charterholder, well buckle up, because you're in for a wild ride. First go to the CFA Institute website at http://www.cfainstitute.org .

At this point, you'll get a website with a lot of different links and information. On the top there will be a bar of links, you'll want to highlight (but not click) "CFA Program", after a drop down menu comes up click on "enroll and register."

This is an important step. On this site, they'll have a lot of requirements to take the exam including having a Bachelor's degree or being within one year of completion. Please make sure you have met these requirements before advancing.

Next, you'll see a box on the right side called "Register For an Exam." Click on available test centers and find the location where you want to take your exam and note the code.

Now go back to the "Register For an Exam" box and click on the date you want to take the exam either June or December of your respective year.

Now sign up for an account with the CFA Institute. This will be your personal information.

Next log in to your account if it requires you to. You'll see a simple list of links, click on "CFA Program Level I Registration." At this point, you'll just fill out your information, make sure you have your driver's license, credit card, and location code.
