How to Hook Up a Dell Inspiron 8100 to a TV
The Dell Inspiron 8100 is a laptop that was first manufactured in 2001. Although it is no longer in production, you still may be using this computer. The Inspiron 8100 has a 15-inch screen, which may not be sufficient for viewing video content, so you may want to connect your laptop to your TV. The Dell Inspiron 8100 has a VGA video output, which means you will need a VGA-to-composite adapter cable to properly connect your laptop to your TV.

Plug the VGA end of the VGA-to-composite adapter cable into your laptop's video output port, which is on the back of your laptop.

Connect the opposite end of the VGA-to-composite adapter cable to your TV's video input slot. This is usually located on the sides or back of your TV. The slot is usually yellow.

Connect one end of the 3.5 mm to RCA audio cable to your laptop's headphone jack. Then connect the opposite end to your TV's audio input jack. The audio input jack should have two slots, one red and one white.

Change the source input on your TV by pressing "Source" or "Input" on your TV's remote control. Select the source that your computer is plugged into.
