How to Record on a JVC VCR
JVC video cassette recorders (VCRs) use VHS cassettes to record television programming or to dub video from a camcorder. The VCR connects to a TV or camcorder with standard yellow, white and red composite cables. Once a VHS cassette is inserted in the machine, the JVC VCR can start recording by pressing a single button on the component or using the remote control.
Things You'll Need
- Blank VHS tapes
- Programming source such as TV signal or camcorder
- Composite AV cables

Connect the yellow, white and red plugs on one end of the composite cables to the matching AV IN jacks on the back of the JVC VCR.

Plug the other ends of the cables into the AV OUT jacks of a camcorder or TV. If connecting to a TV, tune the television to the desired channel for recording.

Insert a blank VHS tape into the compartment in the front of the VCR. The VCR will turn on and the tape will be pulled automatically into the component.

Turn on the TV or the camcorder.

Press the "Record" button on the JVC VCR to begin recording the TV program. Press the "Play" button on the camcorder to dub camcorder tapes on the JVC VCR.

Press the "Stop" button on the VCR when finsihed recording.

Tips & Warnings
Store tapes in a cool, dry location way from direct sunlight.
Unplug the VCR from the electricity while hooking up the AV cable. Use a digital to analog converter box for conveerting digital broadcasting signals into analog signals for recording on the VCR. The FCC link in the reference section explains the connection.
