How to Crop Pictures in Adobe Photoshop

      Choose the photo you want to crop. To do this, open the File menu and choose "Open." A new window will open with a list of photos to choose from. Select the photo and click "Open."

      Select the crop tool from the toolbox or from the "Edit" menu. A window will pop up that gives you the option to determine the exact height and width of the photo. If you know what size you want the photo to be, type the numbers in the designated boxes and click "OK." If you do not know what size you want it to be, simply leave the boxes blank and click "OK."

      Decide where you want to crop the photo. Place the cursor in the top-left corner of the chosen area. Click and hold the mouse and drag the cursor to select the portion of the photo you want to save. A crop selection rectangle will clearly display the area you have chosen. Keep in mind that everything outside of the rectangle will be removed while the inside of the rectangle will stay. Let go of the mouse once you are finished.

      Examine the photo to ensure you are happy with your choice. If you want to change the size of the cropped area, place the cursor on any corner of the crop selection rectangle. When the cursor turns into a two-way arrow, click the mouse and make adjustments to the size.

      Press "Enter" or "Return" to crop the picture.
