How to View Free Resume Sample Writing

Looking at and analyzing free resumes can take as little as five minutes. Resumes are usually the first resource that a prospective employer uses to judge whether you are a potentially good fit for the company. Viewing free resume samples is a good way to learn how to format your resume properly and to find out what information should be included for prospective employers.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Web browser, and allow the main page to fully load. Navigate to one of the following websites: eresumes.com, and click on "Free Sample Resumes"; or office.microsoft.com, and click on "All Templates" and "New Sample Resumes" from the list.

    • 2

Select the type of resume you want to view. Each website has sample resumes tailored to the type of resume that you are writing. For example, if you are trying to go into business, select "Business Resume" from the menu. If you are planning on going into engineering, click "Engineering Resume" on the menu.

    • 3

View the various examples of sample resumes on the website. There will most likely be at least two to three formatting options that would work well for your specific type of resume.

    • 4

Gather additional free resume samples from other resources, including your local library, a bookstore, the career services department of your school, professors and the state Department of Labor. Look through as many resume templates as you can.

    • 5

Decide which resume will work best in highlighting your training, experience and accomplishments.
