Turn avocados into an acne-fighting face mask.

Want to get healthy skin naturally? Make an avocado face mask and you're in for a facial treat. Avocados are not only delicious, but also will replenish your dry skin to create a healthy look. They also have antibacterial properties which make them excellent acne fighters when applied to the skin. Honey has antiseptic properties which add to the cleaning power of this mask, and yogurt will hydrate and soothe your skin. Use a steamer on your face or take a hot shower before you apply this mask. This will open your pores and allow the mask to work.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • 1 avocado
    • 1 tbsp honey
    • 1 tbsp plain yogurt
      • 1

Cut a ripe avocado in half and remove the skin and pit. Mash the avocado in a small bowl.

      • 2

Add honey and yogurt to mashed avocado. Mix together into a paste.

      • 3

Use your fingers to scoop up the mixture and apply to your face in an even manner. Make sure you apply a generous amount to all facial skin, but avoid the delicate skin around your eyes and lips.

      • 4

Wait at least 30 minutes before removing your mask. This gives the mixture time to cleanse and soothe your skin.

      • 5

Rinse the mask off with warm water. Turn the water to cool as you finish rinsing, to close your pores. Pat skin dry.

    Tips & Warnings

    • If you have dry skin, add 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil to the mask for added hydration.

    • To soothe tired eyes while your mask works, apply cucumber slices or wet chamomile tea bags to the eye area.

    • Do a patch test on your wrist to make sure your skin will not have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients before applying to your entire face.
