How to Fix Scrolling Lag in Firefox 3.5

If you find Firefox lags and/or stalls when loading Web pages, often rendering the scroll bar jerky or slow, learn how to fix it. The problem can be with too many "Add-ons." Fix that delay by uninstalling Firefox Add-ons.

      Launch Firefox 3.5 and browse the Web page portion where it lags most often. The lag usually happens where there are lots of graphics.

      Click on "Tools" on the top of browser menu and select "Add-ons" from the drop-down list.

      Disable the installed "Add-ons" one by one under all the categories. To disable an Add-on, right-click to highlight and press the "Disable" button.

      Restart Firefox 3.5 and reload the page, then check by dragging the scroll bar while the page is still loading. Repeat Step 3 until you find the Add-on that is causing the scrolling lag.

      Update problematic Add-on(s). Or, uninstall the Add-on, if the lag persists after updating.
