How to Add a Line to AT&T

Add a new line of service to your AT&T account online, in-store or over the phone.

Whether you need an additional line on your AT&T account to facilitate a wireless Internet aircard, or to simply want to add another member to your FamliyTalk plan, AT&T makes it easy for you to set up a new line of service. And because there are multiple options for adding a new line to an AT&T account, choosing the best option for you may come down to price discounts or convenience.

Instructions

1. Log in to your account on the AT&T homepage to add a line via the Internet. The "Add a Line" option in your account overview menu allows you generate a new line for your account, find a new phone, select a new rate plan and add on calling features.

2. Visit an AT&T store, an AT&T kiosk, or a partner store--such as RadioShack or Best Buy. Adding a line from an AT&T store allows you to take the new phone home the same day you purchase it--the average wait time for a phone ordered online is three to five business days.

3. Call AT&T Sales Support (888-333-6651) to add a line over the phone. While not the fastest option for receiving a new phone or the best option as far as discounts go, adding a line over the phone is an easy option.
