How to Clean a Sony TV

Dust and dirt collect on television sets just as it collects on furniture and shelves. The dirt that collects on the television screen could distort the color and quality of the image. Unlike with furniture, you need to take special care when cleaning a television as you do not want to damage the screen or any of the electrical components. Clean your Sony TV regularly to ensure a high quality viewing experience.

Things You'll Need

• 2 clean, soft cloths

Instructions

1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

2. Dampen a cloth and wipe down the screen. Use a gentle rubbing motion on tougher stains. Do not press hard on the screen as it will cause damage.

3. Dry the screen immediately with a dry cloth.

4. Clean dust and debris off of the television housing by wiping it with a dry cloth. Use the damp cloth if you need to clean any tougher stains and dry it with the second cloth.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use chemical cleaning agents to clean the television as they could damage the television.

• Do not plug the television's power cord back into an electrical outlet until the television is dry.
