How to Make a Blacksmith Cocktail

The Blacksmith cocktail is a cognac-based drink that is made with Kahlua and Drambuie. It is a rich, oaky yet sweet-tasting cocktail that can be served year-round and with any meal. This drink is served in an old-fashioned glass with ice and can be garnished with a cherry, lemon slice or twist and swizzle sticks. Because all of its ingredients are alcoholic, it is unfit for frequent consumption.

Things You'll Need

• Cocktail shaker
• Ice
• 1 oz. cognac
• 1 oz. Drambuie
• 1 oz. Kahlua
• Old-fashioned glass
• Cherry
• Lemon slice or twist
• Swizzle sticks

Instructions

1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. The ice will cool the drink and help dilute some of the alcohol.

2. Pour 1 oz. of cognac into the shaker over the ice.

3. Pour 1 oz. of Drambuie into the shaker over the cognac.

4. Add 1 oz. of Kaluah to the shaker and shake well for 5 seconds. Shaking this drink will blend the alcohol and chill it for serving.

5. Pour the mixture from the shaker into an old-fashioned glass with the ice.

6. Garnish the drink with a cherry, lemon slice or twist or a pair of swizzle sticks. A cherry adds a particularly sweet touch to this liqueur cocktail.
