How to Prevent Static Electricity in a Bounce House

A bounce house should be a place where kids play and enjoy themselves. Although static electricity is something that most people experience often, it can impede play in a bounce house by making it less friendly and not as fun. There are several things that you can do to prevent static electricity buildup in a bounce house.

Instructions

1. Use a humidifier in the area, or use the bounce house on a wet day. Humidity cuts down on static buildup, so the wetter the day, the less static electricity you'll have to deal with.

2. Wipe down the surface of the bounce house with a product designed to eliminate static charge. Purchase these products at department stores or a party-supply store. For a cheap fix, try something like a spray-duster. Be aware that these products might make the bounce house more slippery.

3. Go barefoot. Have children take off their socks before going in the bounce house. Stockings are more likely to create a static charge, and they are also slippery.

4. Spray down the outside of the bounce house with water, and, if you can, wet the grass beneath it before setting it up. Do not get water on any of the electronic equipment that goes along with the bounce house.
