How to Mirror Hard Drives
Mirroring a hard drive is the process of creating an exact byte by byte replication of a current working system volume. Mirroring a hard drive is an important task for computer users to understand as it provides for data redundancy and security of important personal and operating files. Several software packages allow for easy drive mirroring procedures that require nothing more than a few mouse clicks to accomplish.

Launch R-Drive Image from its installed location.

Click the "Create Image" button located in the upper portion of the software's main window.

Select the drive you would like to mirror from the list of available drives presented to you and click the "Next" button.

Select a destination for the new mirror from the navigation window provided and click the "Next" button. The mirror can be placed on any media such as a CD, DVD, or another hard drive, depending on the size of the mirror being made.

Click the "Next" button again on the "Imaging mode" page leaving the default options ticked. These options are for advanced users who wish to create specialized mirrors on RAID arrays or NAS servers.

Enter a password for the new mirror, if desired, and click the "Next" button.

Click the "Start" button to begin creating the hard drive mirror. This process will take several minutes to several hours depending upon the speed and amount of data on the hard drive being mirrored. A dialog box will appear to inform you when the process has been completed successfully.
