How to Create a Spreadsheet on the Web
Spreadsheets are organizational documents that allow users to quickly chart and analyze data. In addition to software applications on which users can build spreadsheets, various online sources also allow their users to create spreadsheets on the web. These spreadsheets can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection and may also be edited by multiple users if the creator wishes to enable group editing. This makes an online spreadsheet ideal for business travelers and collaborative projects.

1
Sign in to Google Docs using your Google account, or create a free account to enable Docs. Google spreadsheets can either be "published," which allows users to view, but not edit the spreadsheet, or "shared," which allows for collaborative editing from users you authorize. Google also supports formulas in spreadsheets, which allow for automatic calculation of numbers within the spreadsheet itself. Users of Gmail, Google's online webmail application, can also automatically attach spreadsheets to outgoing emails messages from within Google Docs.

2
Create a Zoho account, which will enable you to use the suite of online Zoho applications. Zoho Sheet, the spreadsheet application, can generate either private or public spreadsheets. Private spreadsheets will only be visible to you, while public spreadsheets are visible and editable by anyone who knows your Zoho username. Either type of spreadsheet can be viewed from within the application, which provides the editing pane to viewers, or in HTML mode, which is an un-editable full-screen copy of the spreadsheet for printing or for use on other webpages. Zoho also includes a list of public templates made by other users.

Navigate to EditGrid, and create a new account. Click the "Create a New Spreadsheet" link to make a new document. Sharing options can be configured while editing spreadsheets from the "Share" drop down menu and include the ability to share to the public, specific users or communities of users. You can also customize permissions for users, allowing others to either only read or read and write on your spreadsheets. EditGrid also supports simultaneous editing in which more than one user can edit a spreadsheet at a time, with all changes appearing in real-time on every user's screen.
