How to Create Winks for Messenger

Send a virtual wink through instant messages.

By using emoticons, sometimes called "smileys," you can convey different emotions in an instant message. A wink emoticon can be sent through every major instant messaging program. Each program has a different character combination that needs to be typed into the message in order to create a winking face. Winking faces are typically inserted to let the recipient of your message know the previous text was said in a joking or playful manner.

Instructions

1. Create a wink smiley in either Windows Messenger or Yahoo Messenger. Type in either ";-)" or ";)" without quotation marks and you will create a winking emoticon. Press enter to send the wink to the person you are chatting with.

2. Create a winking emoticon using AOL Instant Messenger or Skype. Type ";)" without quotation marks and you will make a winking smiley. Hit the enter key to send the winking emoticon to the person you are talking to.

3. Create a winking smiley using ICQ. Type ";-)" without the quotation marks into the ICQ chat box and ICQ will create a winking smiley face. Press the enter key and the smiley will be sent to the person you are currently chatting with.
