Mute the Toshiba Strata when you don't want the person on the other end to hear the conversation in the room.

The Toshiba Strata IP is a telephone and intercom system designed mainly for office use in mid-sized to large corporations. Each telephone is equipped with a panel of buttons to control various telecommunication functions, including call hold, forwarding to another extension and setting up voice mail. The Strata's mute function can also be activated to shut off the microphone during a call. This is useful when talking to someone in the same room without wanting the individual on the other end of the phone to be able to hear the conversation.
