How to Repair Leaks in Roof Shingles
Roofing shingles can often succumb to exposure to wind, sun, and rain. The elements often can crack shingles or cause them to curl and allow rainwater underneath. Any cracked or curled shingle must be fixed to prevent water from penetrating the roof. With some basic roofing sealant, you can easily seal damaged shingles and prevent further leaks. Apply sealant to curled shingles. Insert a tube of roofing sealant into a caulking gun and pull the trigger to produce a small bead of sealant under the curled shingle. Press the shingle onto the caulk and weigh down with a brick for 24 hours.

Lift the cracked shingles and apply a bead of sealant under the shingles.

Press down the shingles and apply a bead of caulk on top of the cracks.

Smooth the caulk over the crack with a putty knife. Allow the sealant to dry for 24 hours.
