Was Mr. Boddy killed with the knife, or something else?

"It was Miss Scarlet, with the rope, in the study." If you've heard those words spoken before, then you are familiar with the classic board game "Clue." The board game requires players to act like detectives and gather clues in order to make an accusation about who committed a murder. The computer version, called "Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion," follows a similar scenario. You choose a character, roll dice, collect clues and eliminate suspects until you can make an accusation and catch the killer of Mr. Boddy.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert Clue: Murder at the Boddy Mansion into your PC. Follow the instructions to install the game. Restart your computer after the installation process if necessary. Double-click on the Clue: Murder at the Boddy Mansion icon to launch the program.

    • 2

Select "Start Game" to start a new game.

    • 3

Select your characters. Use your mouse to select your own character (set as "human") and computer players (set as "computer"). For computer players, set each player's skill level (from "easy" to "hard"). Click "Start Game" to continue.

    • 4

Click the dice block at the bottom-right-hand corner of the screen to roll the dice. The number on the dice refers to how many spaces your character can move. Move your character by clicking on a tile on the screen.

    • 5

Make suggestions about who the killer is, which weapon they used, and which room they murdered Mr. Boddy in, by entering the different rooms. There are nine rooms to enter. Once in a room, click on the light bulb at the bottom-right-hand corner of the screen. Click a person and a weapon to make the suggestion. Once a suggestion has been made, the other characters will try to disprove it by showing cards. If a player has a card showing your suggestion (either room, person, or weapon), then that part of your suggestion is wrong.

    • 6

Mark the wrong suggestions (your own suggestions and the suggestions of your opponents), by clicking the boxes on your list. Access the list by clicking on the cards on the bottom-left-hand corner of the screen and clicking on the "list" option.

    • 7

Continue taking turns with the other players in the game, traveling to different rooms, and making suggestions about who the killer is until you have enough evidence to make an accusation. Make an accusation by clicking on the handcuffs at the bottom-right-hand corner of the screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • Refer to the "How to Play" section on the game's main screen if you are having trouble playing the game.
