How to Turn on Your New Mail Symbol on MSN
MSN messenger has a new message notification symbol that appears in the corner of your screen, near your clock, whenever you have a new message. You might think the way to find this symbol and activate it is through your email account, but in reality, this symbol comes with MSN Messenger, so you'll need to have and run this program in order to get the new message symbol to show up.

Download MSN's messenger and email notification program.

Install the program by clicking on it and selecting "Install." It will automatically install itself onto your computer.

Click "Run" to start the program.

Input your MSN email address and your password.

Click on "Settings" and choose "Alert me of new messages." Also choose "Stay logged in."

Close the window. MSN Messenger will continue to run and the icon will appear in your system tray. When you get a new email message, a notification symbol will appear over the icon and a notification window will open in the corner of your screen. You can click on it to access your email.
