1
Open the Bitpim program on your LG Dare (it's under the "Program" menu on your phone). Depending on how you customize your settings, you may have it set to a specific hot key. When in the Bitpim program, go to "Ringers" and select the "Add New Ringer" icon on the tool bar.
-
2
Navigate to your mp3 music file and select it.
-
-
3
Select "Convert Audio File" and a dialog box will pop up. Change the Sample Rate to 32,000, the Channels to Stereo (2), and the Bit Rate to 64. This will ensure that your file converts accurately, meaning you won't lose any chords in the song and you will have a high quality conversion. After you change the settings, select "Convert."
-
4
Play through your song and select the part you would like to turn into a ringtone. You won't be able to turn the entire song into a ringtone. There will be two markers that you can drag around your song to clip it. One marker will start your clip and one marker will end your clip.
-
5
Play through your clip and make sure it is exactly what you want. If you want to make some changes, you can adjust the markers accordingly.
-
6
Click "OK" to create your ringtone.
-
7
To set the phone as your ringtone, click on "Send Phone Data." On this page you can click on "ringtones" and then select "OK."
