Instructions

    • 1

Purchase 1/2-inch cording in the length needed for the project. Place adhesive tape on each cut end of the cord to prevent fraying.

    • 2

Cut fabric to the length needed for the trim, plus 1/2-inch for the seam allowance. Cut the width to measure 3 inches.

    • 3

Fold both ends of the fabric 1/4 inch to create a hem. Iron the fold and machine-stitch with matching thread.

    • 4

Lay the material flat with the wrong side facing up. Center the cord on the length of the fabric and fold the material over the cord. The raw edges for the length of the material should be touching to create an even edge.

    • 5

Attach the zipper foot to the sewing machine. Place the zipper foot beside the cord and machine-stitch along the entire length of the cord. The trim is ready to be attached as trim.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not trim the excess fabric from the cord trim. This material is needed to attach the trim to the pillow or project.

  • The wrong side of the fabric is the side that does not show. This side generally has a faded appearance.
