The wrong way to salute.

The basic salute is one of the most common forms of military courtesy. It is considered military etiquette for a person to salute when meeting an officer of equal or higher rank, when saluted by other military personnel, during the hoisting and lowering of a flag, and during the playing of the national anthem or recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. While not saluting is considered a breech of etiquette, performing a salute incorrectly is also looked down upon, therefore it is important to know the proper way to perform a military salute and avoid awkward situations.
