How to Make a Paper Plate Dispenser

Remind you of summertime?

Paper plates are a staple of every outdoor barbecue, picnic or family reunion. There are two common methods that most people use for distributing these plates to hungry, waiting patrons: 1.) the Paper Plate Pass, in which a large stack of paper plates is passed from person to person until the stack disappears and everyone has a plate. 2.) Every Man For Himself (Herself), in which the stack of plates is placed on a table and each person must line up and grab a plate. However, there is a better way. Make a paper plate dispenser.

Things You'll Need

  • Black marker
  • Large, round plastic bucket
  • Heavy-duty, cordless handsaw

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a thin rectangle about 1 foot long and 1/2 inch tall along the bottom of the plastic bucket.

    • 2

Use the saw to cut out the thin rectangle from the bucket.

    • 3

Turn the bucket over and glue the four suction cups close to the edges of the bottom of the bucket. Space them out evenly.

    • 4

Turn the bucket right-side up and load with paper plates.

Tips & Warnings

  • The paper plate dispenser can be attached to a smooth, plastic table or other smooth surface by pushing down on the cups. Plates can then be removed easily, one by one, by the patrons when the food is ready to be served.
