How Can I Tell If I Registered My HP Computer?

Registering your desktop or laptop computer allows HP to easily contact you in the event that something important happens with your machine. If there is some type of recall or important system update, you will be notified immediately. Registering also allows them to easily pull up your information if you call for technical support. If you can't remember whether or not you've registered your HP computer, you can find out with a single phone call.

      Look on the bottom of your HP computer for the serial number. This number is unique to your specific unit.

      Use the chart on HP's website to locate the customer support phone number for your needs (See References).

      Call that number and wait on hold until you are connected to a customer support representative.

      Give the customer support representative the serial number of your HP computer. The representative will then be able to use this information to tell whether or not your unit has been registered. It's as simple as that.
