How to Add Points and Download Games for Nintendo DSi

It’s possible to download games directly to your Nintendo DSi. According to Nintendo.com, you need a high-speed Wi-Fi Internet connection to use this feature. You also have to buy Nintendo DSi points from the Nintendo DSi Shop using a MasterCard or Visa. In only a few steps, you can buy points and choose from a list of games available for download.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Nintendo DSi and select “Nintendo DSi Shop.” The system will automatically connect to your wireless high-speed Internet connection. The recommended titles screen appears when you successfully connect to the Nintendo DSi Shop.

2. Look at the bottom of the touchscreen in the Nintendo DSi Shop and click “start shopping.” The DSi Ware screen appears. Click where it says “Add Nintendo DSi Points.” The payment options screen appears.

3. Purchase Nintendo DSi Points using a MasterCard or Visa. Choose the amount of points to purchase. Points are available for $10, $20, $30 and $50. You get 100 points for each dollar you spend. For example, $10 buys 1,000 points.

4. Enter the payment information for your debit or credit card. Click “ok” to complete the purchase. A message appears onscreen telling you how many points you purchased. When you spend points the message updates to let you know how many points remain.

5. Return to the main Nintendo DSi Shop screen and click “DSi Ware.” Shop for games based on the points you want to spend. Games cost between 200 to 800 or more Nintendo DSi Points. If you have 1,000 points and buy a game that costs 200 points, 800 points will remain in your account.

6. Select the game you want to purchase. Click “download,” and it automatically downloads to your DSi. Exit the Nintendo DSi Shop. Look for a blue gift box on the main menu. Click the blue gift box to open your game. The game is now saved to your DSi.

Tips & Warnings

• Read game descriptions carefully. You cannot get a refund for a game you don't like or download by mistake. When your points are gone that's it.

• If you're using a public access point, make sure no one is watching you enter your credit or debit card information.
