How to Use 3M Polish

The 3M Company produces an array of products that range from medical bandages to car polishes. It's very simple to use a 3M polish: Usually it is just a matter of apply, polish and buff away. Depending on what you are polishing, you may be able to use a polishing machine. A polishing machine will do a faster job (as it polishes faster than any human hand can), leaving your item looking lustrous.

Things You'll Need

  • Machine polisher
  • 2 polishing pads

Instructions

    • 1

Apply the polishing pads to a machine polisher, if they are not already attached. The application process will vary by machine, but usually they just slip on.

    • 2

Apply the 3M polish directly to the polishing pad. You will need to reapply more 3M polish as you work.

    • 3

Turn on the polisher and set it onto the item (usually a car) you are going to polish. Swirl your hands (while still holding onto the polisher) in a circular motion while using a medium pressure. Allow the polish to dry. Once it dries, it will look hazy.

    • 4

Remove the soiled polishing pad and put on a clean one.

    • 5

Place the polisher on the item you just polished and turn it on. Once again, move the polisher in a circular motion using medium pressure. Continue until the polish has been buffed off.
