How to Use a Signature Line in an Email

Email signature is a piece of text that comes in at the end of the email, and is used specifically for automatically adding the name and contact details to outgoing emails. Once set, the email server adds the signature on all outgoing emails, thereby saving time, since you do not have to type it individually in each email. Signature text can contain anything of your choice, from your favorite quote to poetry.

Use a Signature Line in Gmail

1. Log in to your Gmail account.

2. Click on the “Settings” link on the top-right side of email page that opens.

3. Click on the “General” tab of the Settings page that opens.

4. Click to select the "Signature" radio button (the one below "No Signature"), and then type in the signature that you want in the adjacent box.

5. Click on the “Save Changes” button.

Use a Signature Line in Yahoo Mail

1. Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.

2. Click on the “Options” link on the top-right side of email page that opens, and then click on “Mail Options.”

3. Click on the “Signature” link on the left pane of the page that opens.

4. Click to select the “Show a signature on all outgoing messages” option, and then type in the signature in the box below.

5. Click on the “Save Changes” button.

Use a Signature Line in Hotmail

1. Log in to your Hotmail account.

2. Click on the “Options” link on the top-right side of email page that opens, and then click on “More options.”

3. Click on the “Personal e-mail signature” link on the page that opens.

4. Type the signature that you in the page that opens, and then click on the “Save” button.
