How Do I Scan U-verse TV Channels?

Scan your U-Version channels into the Television

U-verse is a fiber-optics cable alternative provided by AT&T. The service functions in the same fashion as standard cable, but you are given a few extra features when using your Internet and recording programming. However, if you don't like flipping through U-verse channels that you don't receive in your product packaging you can have your television perform a channel scan. Doing so records only the channels your receive into the memory of the TV, and doing so removes other stations when flipping through channels.

Instructions

1. Power on your television and the U-verse receiver box. Push the "Menu" button on your television remote.

2. Scroll through the options in the menu until you find "Programming" (the exact phrase may differ slightly from TV to TV).

3. Chose "Channel Scan," then select "Cable." Once selected the television scans all of your U-verse programs. This process can take a few minutes because it does need to search through every available station.

4. Press the "Menu" button to exit the channel scan once complete. You can now watch your U-verse programming without flipping through blocked off channels.
