You might want to send a personal letter instead, expressing your gratitude for what the soldiers are doing for their country. You may even want to send a seasonal package, such as a gift covered with holiday wrapping paper. No matter the type of gift you send, the simple fact that someone is thinking of them will brighten the soldiers' day.

Instructions

1. Shop on the eBay Giving Works site in the Operation Gratitude section. When you buy an item on the Operation Gratitude page, the seller will donate 10% to 100% of the money you spend.

2. Send a personal package if you have loved ones in Iraq. You don't have to choose priority mailing when at the post office. The packages are usually delivered together on the next available military plane.

3. Send a personal letter, letting the soldiers know that someone does care about their well being. Personal letters are often the most heartfelt and soldiers in Iraq will be forever grateful of your appreciation. Moreover, letters add a personal touch that most generic gifts cannot provide.

4. Compile a care package. Items you may want to include in your care package are deodorant, powder, jelly beans, disposable cameras mints, beef jerky, snack mixes, sunflower seeds, chewing gum, coffee, playing cards, music CDs, packaged cookies, soup mix, clothes and baby wipes.
