How to Decorate a Big Wheel
Your son will love tooling around on a Big Wheel that he helped to decorate. We all like to personalize things and kids do too, especially things like bikes that are so easy to decorate. With a little guidance and a few simple items you can help a Big Wheel owner decorate his bike in less than an hour.
Things You'll Need
- Paint made for plastic or metal
- Paint brushes
- Paint smocks (optional)
- Markers made for plastic or metal
- Decorative items
- Stick-on decals
- Streamers
- Hot glue gun
- Mailing tape or duct tape
Instructions

1
Gather a large variety of supplies and paint so that he has a lot of decorations to choose from for his bike. Anything goes for doo-dads, stencils, purchased decals, streamers, feathers, sequins, buttons and ribbon.
-
2
Provide pictures showing ideas for painted designs, shapes and possible arrangements of craft materials. Talk to him about possible color schemes and design ideas.
-
-
3
Prepare an area for decorating by laying down newspaper or butcher paper and put the Big Wheel on top of it.
-
4
Use paint to change the color of the seat, handle bar or the wheel hub.
-
5
Use a hot glue gun for wrapping and taping streamers around handlebars and wheels.
-
