It's not difficult to insert a drill bit into a cordless drill.

The HP472 cordless drill is a standard construction and home maintenance appliance distributed by the Ryobi corporation. This drill is intended for everyday home repair and upkeep. The Ryobi HP472 is cordless in design and uses key-less "chucking" for insertion of drill bits within its main housing. Installing a drill bit into this cordless drill is an easy process which virtually any owner can accomplish. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Set the direction of rotation for the drill in the center position, which locks it into place so you can open the "chuck."

    • 2

Turn the "chuck" body, the large section on the end of the drill which holds the bit, in a counterclockwise direction to open the chuck jaws. Open the jaws just wider than the circumference of the drill bit.

    • 3

Insert the bit firmly into the chuck jaws. Ensure the bit is as far back into the chuck head as possible. The drill bit should be sticking straight out from the drill with no slanting.

    • 4

Turn the chuck head in a clockwise direction to secure the bit to the drill, which will firmly lock the bit into place and prepare the drill for use.

    • 5

Set the rotation to any direction other than centered to complete the installation.
