How to Change Sienna O2 Sensors

The O2 sensor helps your Sienna run more efficiently

The Toyota Sienna is similar to a minivan. Many of the consumers who purchase the Sienna have large families or young children since it has room for the family and additional cargo. Similar to other modern vehicles, the Toyota Sienna uses an O2 sensor to help maximize engine efficiency. If you own a Toyota Sienna, you can save money by replacing the O2 sensor on your vehicle when it requires repair.

• O2 Sensor Socket Wrench

Instructions

1. Locate the Sienna's O2 sensor. It is located near the engine manifold beside the converter. If you have trouble finding the sensor, your owner's manual also has a display diagram that you can use to find the sensor by the engine manifold.

2. Unhook the wires that are connected to the sensor by removing the plug from the sensor wires.

3. Place an oxygen sensor-fitted socket wrench over the sensor and remove the part from the Sienna.

4. Unscrew the sensor in a counter-clockwise motion until clear of the vehicle.

5. Insert the new O2 sensor and secure by twisting in the clockwise direction. Then, plug the vehicle to sensor plugs into the sensor and the changeout will be complete.
