The Crystal Eye webcam is an integrated function provided with the Acer Aspire 5315 laptop. With this application, you can record video using the camera embedded above the monitor. A driver provides instructions to the operating system regarding the equipment. Without a functioning driver, a webcam cannot work correctly. Acer provides a program for reinstalling drivers for applications on your computer. By initiating the control software and installing a driver, the webcam should function correctly.

      Close down any open applications on your computer.

      Press the "Alt + F10" keys on your keyboard. This will open the eRecovery Management system on your computer.

      Enter the password for the recovery system. The password will be the one you assigned when you set up the laptop or the default. The default is six zeros, or "000000."

      Select "Recovery Options" from the start screen on the management system. Select the "Next" button to continue.

      Choose "Reinstall Applications/driver" from the Options provided and press the "Next" button.

      Select "Driver" and "Camera" from the Drivers screen. Move to the right side of the window and choose "Install Camera Driver Now."

      Let the laptop reboot and install the driver.
