How to Store Cotton Fabric
Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional sewer, proper fabric storage is immeasurably important for maintaining the color, texture and quality of your cotton fabric. Although cotton isn't a delicate fabric, you need to keep it dry and free of dust while allowing it to breathe. You want to avoid musty smells, color bleeding and fading, particularly if you plan to store it for long periods of time. Proper cotton fabric storage can be done in a few simple steps and will keep your fabrics looking great for your next project.

Do not store fabric in attics or basements; these rooms generally do not offer the stable temperature or humidity needed for fabric storage.
