How Do You Enable Javascript on a Vista Setup?

In Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system users have the ability to enable (or disable) JavaScript in web browser setups. (Enabling/disabling JavaScript is not just confined to Vista. Other Windows operating system such as Windows 7 and XP also allow this.) JavaScript is a dynamic web programming language that allows for user interactivity, pop-ups, and content-rich web pages. Enabling JavaScript in Windows Vista is as simple as opening your web browser (ex: Internet Explorer or Firefox) and changing the settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Internet Explorer (or Firefox) and click on the "Tools" menu.

    • 2

Select "Internet Options" ("Options" in Firefox) then click to open the "Security" tab ("Content" tab in Firefox).

    • 3

Select the "Internet" zone, then click "Custom level." In Firefox, simply click on the "Enable JavaScript" check box. JavaScript is now enabled in Firefox.

    • 4

Scroll through the "Settings" list until you reach "Active Scripting." Click "Enable" to enable it. Click "OK," then "Apply" and "OK" to save your settings. JavaScript is now enabled in Internet Explorer.
