How to Find Post Office Certified Receipts

The U.S. Postal Service offers a certified mail service that allows you to track your delivery items. When you request certified mail, you receive a receipt with a unique article number. The article number identifies and tracks your package, letter or envelope. In addition, you can request Return Receipt service which provides you a copy of the signature associated with the delivery of the article.

Instructions

1. Retrieve your receipt and identify the article number. Go to the Postal Services website at USPS.com. Click "Track & Confirm" on the upper navigation menu.

2. Enter your article number in the "Enter Label/Receipt Number" box on the "Track & Confirm" page. Click the "Go" button.

3. Review the search results. The site will provide information on when your package was delivered and a digital signature if you requested Return Receipt service.
