Computer Keyboard Replacement Instructions
A new keyboard can be a positive change for anyone who sits at a computer for long periods of time during the day. Many are now ergonomically correct, fitting your hands and posture so you can work more comfortably for longer. Replacing a keyboard takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Turn off your computer. Unplug your computer from its power source.

Find the cord that is connecting your current keyboard to your computer. Disconnect it from your computer.

Take your new keyboard out of the packaging. Read the instructions thoroughly. Unwind the cord.

Place the keyboard where you will be using it. Wind the cord to your computer's connections. Prop the keyboard up with its feet underneath.

Plug the keyboard into the back of your computer. If the keyboard has a PS/2 connection, it will be a rounded green end. Look for the matching slot on the back of your computer. If it is a USB keyboard, it will have a rectangular connector that fits into a similarly shaped USB slot.

Plug your computer back into its electrical source. Turn on the computer. If your computer detects the hardware, follow the instructions. If your keyboard comes with a disc, insert it and follow the instructions in order to take full advantage of the keyboard's features.
