Instructions

  1. Remove Window Crank

    • 1

Set the lock on the window so that it will not open. If your casement window has two locks, set the lock on the bottom first.

    • 2

Locate the set screw on the back side or underside of the window crank.

    • 3

Loosen the set screw with a screwdriver. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to loosen the screw. Continue turning the screw counterclockwise and then pull out the screw.

    • 4

Pull the window crank off the base.

    Remove the Grille

    • 5

Locate the sash slots on the perimeter of the window. These are used to keep the grille attached to the window.

    • 6

Pull on the grille where the ends have been inserted into the sash slots. Do this one at a time or the grille will not come out correctly.

    • 7

Repeat this process for additional windows that must have the grille removed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some types of windows may not have a set screw for the window crank.

  • You can break the window grille cover if you try to force it out of the sash slots.
