How to Extend an SATA Hard Disk Drive Connection on the System Board

SATA (Serial-ATA) connections on the system board (motherboard) are used to connect optical devices and disk storage devices such as CD drives, DVD drives and hard disks to the computer. Occasionally, reach will be a problem with traditional SATA cables because of the architecture of the computer case or the motherboard. To extend your SATA connection you will need to use a bridging cable.
