Make a series of phone calls with your iPhone 3G. Record how often phone calls are dropped or if it is hard to hear the other individual. If you are dropping a lot of calls you may want to count this against the phone and AT&T (the phone provider).

Press the "Safari" button on the iPhone to launch the Internet. Compare the speed of Internet access to other phones you have used.

Look into the connection speed of your Internet and how quickly it loads pages. If the pages load faster then other phones you can count this for the phone.

Determine if you like the touchscreen interface. You may need some time to adapt the the touchscreen. Take a week or so to grow use to the touch screen keyboard on the iPhone before rating it. Most things seem odd and hard to use when first being used.
