How to Use Webbing Solution

Webbing solution can create a spider web effect in paint.

Webbing solution is generally used to create a spider web or splattered surface effect on the walls of your home. It's an additive to gel coat paint and is applied using a spray gun. The air pressure setting on the spray gun determines the effect that you get. For a spider web effect, the psi should be 10 to 15. For a splattered effect, the psi should be between 5 and 10. Anything within that range can allow you to test the type of webbing results you want, but always follow the specific instructions for your gel coat for the best results.

• Gel coat
• Webbing solution
• Spray gun
• Bucket
• Stirring stick

Instructions

1. Determine the correct amount of paint for your needs. You can paint 70 to 100 square feet with one gallon of solution.

2. Divide the total gallons of paint that you need by the three. This number is the amount of webbing solution that you will need to purchase. Multiply this number by two to determine the amount of gel coat that you should buy.

   For example, if you would use 9 gallons of paint for a room, you would divide that number by three to get the amount of webbing solution that you need--3 gallons. You would then multiply the webbing solution number (3) by two to get the amount of gel coat that you need, resulting in 6 gallons of gel coat.

3. Mix together in a large bucket the webbing solution and the gel coat. Use a stirring stick to make sure that the mixture is even.

4. Fill a spray gun with the mixture and set the psi. For a spider web texture, the psi should be between 10 and 15. For a splatter texture, the psi should be between 5 and 10. Apply evenly to the surface of your walls. Refill the spray gun when needed.
